I've been neglecting my duties!

We are in Georgia... leaving today to head back to Dallas.

I haven't been updating, because I've been enjoying my time with family and friends. We arrived in Marietta, Georgia last Thursday night. We drove all the way from Austin to Marietta in one day. It was a crazy amount of driving, but good to just get it done. 16 hrs total - about 14 hours of driving. I did 750 miles, R. drove 220. Whew!

Friday was spent laying around and recovering, Saturday we went to Athens to see my sister and friends, Sunday was back to my mom and dad's, and monday was starting to get ready for our trip to New Zealand - by packing what we need to bring with us.

And now Minnie is in her resting spot for the next few months. She definitely had some stressful moments on the trips and now seems quite unsure about the new cats she has to live with, but I think she'll do OK here for a few months. I will miss her. I didn't realize how much until this morning when I sat there looking at her. Minnie and I have been through a lot together in nearly 2 years. Even though she is only a cat, I always had her when I was sad or down to hug and love. She helped me through a lot of bad stuff and for that I will always love her. I hope the next few months are good for her and I know my parents will love her lots.
She is a sweet old lady. She's been bounced around a lot these past few weeks, but I think feels better now that she seems to not have to move again.

And now the next phase of our trip begins. Back to Dallas, Texas. Flying tomorrow to LA via Seattle (hey, free tickets, no complaints by me). In LA for until the 23rd. Then flying out on the 23rd to Auckland. From there, lots of bouncing around New Zealand. For 2 months. It feels crazy. Thinking we shall have 2 whole months of just exploring another country. To wander. To relax. To think. To clear our heads and think about the future and life. Or to not think about it. Whatever we want. I'm so glad we have the cash and time to do this.

So, now, to pack. Get back in the rental car. Need to drive about 9-10 hours today, so that we don't have far to Dallas in the morning.

Expect more updates and pictures now. And if you'd like post cards, please email me.

All for now
- N.

Glad to hear your trip is going well. And that your car-cat is settling into her new place. We miss you, keep updating. :)

Haha I just realized I forgot to sign into my own Gmail. So I posted the comment by dr. at goodherpestreatments. Classic.

Hahaha. That is hilarious. Yes, Minnie is settling in. Talked to my parents tonight. She actually likes one of the other cats already - the other 2, not so much. But, she's getting used to it, which makes me happy.
